Mendocino Coast Healthcare Foundation
Supports health and wellness for our Mendocino Coastal community.
The Mission
The Mendocino Coast Healthcare Foundation supports health and wellness for our Mendocino coastal community. Whether it is the hospital needing diagnostic equipment, the fire department needing new pagers or a mass vaccination clinic needing volunteers, Mendocino Coast Healthcare Foundation provides real-world support to fulfill these very real needs.
The generous support of our local and global communities – along with the dedication and commitment of the Mendocino Coast HFoundation Board, Staff and Volunteers — has enabled Mendocino Coast Healthcare Foundation to provide over $10M in direct grants that improve the health of our community and its visitors.
Each year, Winesong brings together incredible wineries, chefs, guests, and community supporters to make a meaningful difference for healthcare on the Mendocino Coast.
Thanks to the generosity of our 2025 attendees, sponsors, and partners, Winesong raised enough funding to help purchase a new CT scanner for our local hospital — an essential advancement that will improve diagnostic care and expand access to critical medical services for our coastal community.
This impact reaches far beyond a single weekend. Every ticket purchased, every auction bid, and every glass raised helps support better healthcare for local residents, families, and visitors alike.
Winesong 2025 — Making a lasting Impact
When you attend Winesong, you become part of something much bigger: a celebration of community, compassion, and care for the Mendocino Coast.
Where it all began
MCHFoundation began in 1984 as a nonprofit, charitable organization that could receive gifts from individuals, and other entities, to benefit the coastal hospital.
The Foundation received its first large gift, a land parcel from Georgia-Pacific Corporation, valued at over $1M, a great start to a long history of successful fundraising!
A year after MCHFoundation was formed, the organization planned its first fundraising event, Winesong, a full day celebration in the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. Friends gathered to enjoy music, wine, food and participate in a live auction, with the proceeds benefiting the Foundation.
In the years since its founding,
The MCHFoundation has grown to embrace a wider range of entities to support through grants. In order to better provide for the essential healthcare needs of our coastal community, MCHFoundation currently funds grants for the hospital, clinics, medical support and resource centers, volunteer fire departments, and any organization or program that cares for the health and wellness of our community.
Each year MCHFoundation provides direct grants to support critical healthcare projects, equipment or needs, as requested by our healthcare partners, and approved by the Foundation Board. That work continues with infusions of funding from grants, family foundations, private individuals and local businesses.
Artists, vendors, volunteers and supporters made the first Winesong such a success, that beyond the $30,000 raised, a tradition was born. Winesong has been celebrated ever since, with increased success, while also building a community over time and distance.
